How should activity be progressed?
Short answer
Activity is progressed by staying below the current symptom threshold long enough to consolidate the gain, then increasing incrementally. Random pushing and complete rest are both usually counterproductive.
More detail
A workable progression uses short, tolerable sessions of the right kind of demand — cardiovascular, vestibular, cognitive, cervical — and increases only when the current level is comfortably tolerated.
Setbacks are managed by scaling back briefly and re-progressing, not abandoning activity. The goal is a broader capacity, not one high-intensity day at a time.
