FAQ · Becoming a Patient

What happens at the first visit?

Short answer

The first contact is a free 15-minute phone or 25-minute in-person consultation focused on your story, history, and goals. A comprehensive evaluation is scheduled separately, once we agree the case is a fit.

More detail

The consultation is a conversation. You describe what is going on, what you have already tried, and what you hope will change. We describe how we would approach a case like yours and whether we think we can help. There is no pressure and no obligation.

If we move forward, the comprehensive evaluation is more thorough — typically about an hour — and includes the examination and testing appropriate to your case. Findings are then presented at a follow-up so you understand exactly what is going on and what the plan involves.

This information is educational and general in nature. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan, and it does not describe every possible cause of a symptom. Individual evaluation is required to determine what applies to any specific case.
